Additional 1 per cent Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees and Dearness relief to pensioners w.e.f. July 1, 2017:
The Union Cabinet has given its approval for release of additional 1% Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners. It will be applicable from July 1, 2017. The release of the additional instalment of DA represents an increase of 1% over the existing rate of 4% of the Basic Pay/Pension, to compensate for price rise. This increase is in accordance with the accepted formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
